Dental hygienist Marissa is a 24 year veteran of the dental industry; armed with a BA and an RDH, she made it her mission to help people, and decided that the dental field was a perfect place to do just that. "My job gives me the ability to make other people feel better about themselves," she says. "That’s its own reward!"
Marissa appreciates her workplace, as the environment supports her professional development. “I’m constantly looking for ways to make improvements”, she says, adding that her own childhood memories of the dentist include low speed drills and not much use of Novocain. “People assume it will be an unpleasant experience,” she says. “It doesn’t have to be!”
When Marissa isn’t working, she’s spending time with her family at their home in White Plains, NY. She can be found hiking with her dog or attending basketball games with her daughter. Marissa loves the city, the Catskills and the Hamptons, but dreams of visiting Europe with her husband and kids. She also supports Goodwill and Smiles for Life.
