As a dental assistant, Gloria thrives on the hard work that the job demands. She spent a year in college studying computer science before pursuing a degree in phlebotomy and EKG. Her sister was a dental assistant, and got Gloria her initial job – from there, it became a career, and Gloria now has 22 years in the industry.
"I love the patients and the work we do" says Gloria, adding "I think people associate going to the dentist with painful procedures, and I try to help them understand it doesn’t have to be that way! I can understand how they feel, because I was always scared of the dentist when I was a kid."
When Gloria isn’t calming patient fears, she’s spending time with her spouse and two children in their Mount Vernon home. They enjoy reading and going to the park, and hope to travel to Italy someday. "I admire people who give back to society," says Gloria. "That’s what is really important in life!"
